Meet Sean

LEADERSHIP
THROUGH SERVICE
SERVICE FROM THE START
The son of a blue-collar family, Mayor Sean Shultz has been driven by a lifelong commitment to service. Inspired by his father—a Vietnam veteran and volunteer firefighter—Sean began his journey by volunteering with his dad’s veterans’ organization, where he witnessed firsthand the transformative power of community support.
With the encouragement of his family, Sean became the first in his family to graduate from college and then headed to law school, determined to dedicate his life to public service. He arrived in Carlisle over 25 years ago to attend Penn State Dickinson Law and quickly fell in love with the town’s historic charm and strong sense of community.
BUILDING A CAREER THROUGH SERVICE
While building a successful Cumberland County law practice, Sean has given back through volunteer work with organizations like Carlisle Summerfair, the United Way, and the American Literacy Corporation. In 2005, he was appointed to a vacancy on Carlisle Borough Council, where he has served as Council President, Deputy Mayor and now Mayor. He continues to serve as solicitor for several Cumberland County townships. He is a managing shareholder at Saidis, Shultz & Fisher, understanding the complications and stresses of owning a local business. He has served as a volunteer firefighter here in Carlisle.
