Economic Development

Bipartisanship at Work: Mayor Shultz with Lt. Gov. Davis and County Commissioner Neiderer after he successfully advocated for $10.2 Million in Commonwealth PA SITES grant and and low-interest loan to clean up and redevelop the former Frog, Switch Manufacturing site.
We secured $1.2 million in Transportation Infrastructure Investment Funds from the Commonwealth to complete the final leg of the Carlisle Connectivity Project—supporting the largest redevelopment in borough history. This includes:
-
Upgrades to North Hanover Street and Carlisle Springs Road
-
A new traffic signal and roundabout
-
Railway safety improvements
This project supports 338 new housing units, a 92-room hotel, retail and recreation spaces, and 845 new jobs, generating $101 million annually for our regional economy.
Land Use Reform
We’ve modernized zoning to encourage smart growth, including:
-
Accessory Dwelling Units (ADUs) to increase housing options and allow residents to offset inflated housing costs through an additional source of income.
-
Shared parking and fee-in-lieu policies to make better use of space in Carlisle.
-
Support for artisan manufacturing and bike infrastructure.
And we're going to continue working to modernize our land use processes so they are more accessible to everyone.
